Applied Mathematics and Science Applied academic courses are a component of the Tech Prep initiative for systemic reform. Courses in applied mathematics and science are similar in content to traditional college prep courses but use workplace applications and emphasize contextual, hands-on learning. The course content is rigorous and challenging. Through relevant applications and activities, students develop a strong foundation in mathematics and science that unlocks the learning potential of those who learn abstract concepts throught concrete experiences.
